Wine and Cheese Pairing – Feb 24, 2009

An Unconventional Wine & Cheese Pairing Event

Another fine opportunity to find out what goes with what?

When: Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 7:00 pm
Where: The New Wine Market
1543 17 Ave. SE. (old brewery in Inglewood)
Drive in thru the gates. Lots of free parking.

The next Grand Cru event for 2009 promises to be an educational experience to say the least.  Not only will you be exposed to a dozen fine cheeses and at least a half dozen red wine varietals, but you’re also in for a whole bunch of fun!

This is not your Friday night havarti hacking or brie baking kind of event.  Reg Hendrickson from Dairy Farmers of Canada will present a lively introduction to the various cheese types & then suggest some pairing potentials.  The wines will be introduced by their styles & flavor profiles with some pairing ideas offered.

And then the fun begins!  You’ll have an opportunity to try as many combinations as you like in search of the Truth!  Or at least a match made on earth… With over 100 pairing possibilities there’s no way you’ll go home without a bunch of favorites!

This evening will be different from our last pairing event. Some new cheeses, all different wines & we’re working with red varietals only.  Be prepared for a more focused exploration!  Please join us for another delightful Grand Cru evening of wine & cheese camaraderie / education / fun.

More details to follow but, among other things, we’re staging what might be Calgary’s first cheddar vertical… and we’ll introduce you to the very new wine market in Inglewood. Tell your friends!
